Disabled skiing
takes many forms and is often referred to under the banner of
adaptive skiing.
Ski-Abilities aim is to get everyone skiing regardless of their
disability.
The ski session is from 7 to 8pm every Monday. It’s recommended
you arrive from 6.45pm to facilitate fitting of skis, etc.
What to Expect.
On arrival your needs will be
assessed and any specialist equipment you require will be provided.
Ideally we offer one to one instruction, but this depends on the
amount of volunteers available and may not always be possible.
What to Bring
Gloves.
It is a policy of the ski slope that all skiers must wear gloves.
If you forget them Ski-Ability keeps gloves you may borrow for
the night.
Ski Helmets.
Ski-Ability promotes safety and recommends skiers, particularly
those using sit skis, wear safety helmets. For children under
17 years of age, Ski-Ability have adopted a policy that they all
wear helmets. A variety of helmets are available for loan each
evening, courtesy of Children In Need.
